Ferrimaroc Overview
Ferrimaroc offer a first class ferry service uniting Spain and the north eastern part of Morocco. Ferrimaroc do this on an all-year-round basis. During the peak summer season Ferrimaroc offers up to 20 sailings a week in each direction, between the ports of Almeria (Spain) and Nador (Morocco).
Ferrimaroc was the first ferry company to sail this route, in November 1994. Over 680,000 passengers and 160,000 vehicles travelled on the Almeria - Nador crossing in 2005.
Acciona Trasmediterranea has taken over Ferrimaroc, and Ferrimaroc now runs as a subsidiary of Acciona.
Routes
Ferrimaroc runs principally between Almeria in southern Spain and Nador in Morocco. It also runs from Almeria to Melilla (Morocco) and Ghazaouet in Algeria via Acciona Trasmediterranea. All these can be booked with AFerry.com.
As an alternative Nautas Al Maghreb ferries operate routes from Alicante, Almeria and Malaga to Nador, Ghazaouet, Oran and Melilla.
Onboard Facilities
The Scirocco was the first ferry to operate on this line, onboard facilities include both self-service and a la carte restaurants, a cafeteria, a disco bar and VIP lounge, airline seats and shops. The Mistral was launched in June 1997 and is a much larger ship. Onboard facilities include a halal self-service restaurant, 3 lounge cafeterias, cinema, mosque, airline seats, games room and shops.
