About Heysham
Located on England's west coast in the county of Lancashire, Heysham is an old fishing village and an excellent starting location to explore the Morecambe bay and coastal area, and the north-west of England, including Manchester and Liverpool, as well as offering good connections to Scotland and Wales.
There are many amazing sights to see in and around Heysham; there are the well known Stone Graves near St. Patricks Church, and the barrows located in the Lancashire downs, where many Viking and Saxon remains have been found. Most of these fascinating remains, such as items of jewelry and weaponry, can be viewed in the nearby museum in Lancaster. It's also worth sampling the non-alcoholic nettle beer for which Heysham is famous for.
