Nautas Al Maghreb Overview
In early 2003 Balearia, the popular Spanish operator serving the Balearic Islands, created the Nautas Al Maghreb ferry company to offer crossings from Tangiers in Morocco to Algeciras in southern Spain. Nautas Al Maghreb seeks to offer quality maritime communications on the Algeciras toTanger ferry route. It is aimed at Moroccan citizens living in Spain and intended to enhance the commercial relationships between the region of Tangier and Europe.
Routes
The Nautas Al Maghreb service runs between Algeciras in Spain and Tanger in Morocco, with Balearia running additional services to Barcelona, Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
Algeciras, situated at the south of the Iberian Peninsula, is the capital of one of the most important regions of Andalusia, and home to the most important ferry port of Spain and the Mediterranean Sea. Tanger is located in the west of the Strait of Gibraltar. It is the largest ferry port in the country in terms of cargo and passenger transportation. More people enter Morocco through the port of Tanger than any other.
Onboard Facilities
Nautas Al Maghreb has put together a super fast ferry fleet specifically designed for this crossing, and that provide a wide range of entertainment services so that your trip across the Strait of Gibraltar becomes a real pleasure. Onboard facilities include lounges with comfortable seats, cafeterias and shops. The crossing takes under an hour on average. |
