About Newhaven
Newhaven is a village with a small car ferry port, located at the mouth of the River Ouse in East Sussex near the historic towns of Seaford, Peacehaven and Lewes. Newhaven has been a harbour since the 19th century, when the river Ouse was redirected to flow through Newhaven after a storm stopped the rivers flow through Seaford. Today, the harbour's main function is as a commercial port with ferry links to Dieppe in France.
One of the main attractions of Newhaven is the town's 19th century fort built in the 1860s and located on top of Castle Hill; it is one of the last ones in England that were built during the Bronze Age.

By Car
From the north follow the A26 and from the east and west follow the A259 until you reach then town then follow the signs and directions for the ferry terminal.
By Rail
There is a local stopping train service that stops in Newhaven just outside of the ferry terminal.
By Bus
There is a local stopping bus service that stops in the town and also links Newhaven to the surrounding towns and villages.
