About Santander
Situated in Cantabria on the northern coast of Spain, and forming and entrance along with Bilbao to Spain's mainland, Santander is an important and excellently located port. The position of Santander's port puts it in the road network that runs out of the city, enabling visitors to easily travel to all the major destinations in Spain and Portugal.
The city itself is a busy regional capital and popular holiday destination that offers a wide range of attractions, from its award winning sand beaches, and outstanding shopping facilities, to its large range of bars and restaurants that offer excellent Spanish cuisine. Santander's main attractions are on the seafront; the Sardinero beach, gardens, casino and the royal Magdalena Palace.

Santander ferry port terminal has a number of facilities, including parking provision for disabled persons, wheelchair access and wheelchair accessible disabled toilets. There are also pay phones, a shop selling beverages and snacks, and a cafeteria.
Getting There
By Car
If you are travelling from the East, take the N634 west along the coast towards Coruna. If you are travelling from the West, then take the N634 eastwards towards Bilbao. Santander Ferry Port is located in the heart of the city, follow signs to Puerto, Zona Maritima or Ferry.
By Rail
The station is 5mins away from the ferry with services to Bilbao and Oviedo. RENFE is the national railway system and has links to almost every town in Spain.
By Bus
There is a coach station in Santander, about 5 minutes from the terminal and there are regular services to and from Madrid and Bilbao. |
