Tangier Ferries Overview

Through AFerry.com it's possible to see timetables, check the latest offers and book tickets for ferries to and from the port of Tangier in Morocco with the operators Grand Navi Veloci, Balearia (via their Nautas Al Mahgreb division), Acciona Trasmediterranea, SNCM and Comarit/Comanav Ferries. Ferries travel from Tangier to Algeciras and Barcelona in Spain, Genoa in Italy and Sète in France.

About Tangier

Located on the most northerly coast of Morocco, Tangier is one of the largest ferry ports in the country, ranked second only to Casablanca. The port helps to connect Morocco to the southern coast of Spain, and provides an excellent access route into both countries. With Tangier's excellent road connections it is possible to travel to almost anywhere in Morocco from Tangier's port.

The city itself is rapidly developing, with large construction projects across Tangier, especially tourist infrastructure. The city also offers many shops and a wide selection of local restaurants serving traditional Moroccan food.

Tangier Terminal Facilities

Disembarking by ferry at Tangier can be a bit of a slow process, with queues for passport control and customs. Make sure that you have your passport stamped (and departure card collected) while on board the ferry.

The ferry terminal offers a range of services such as Bureau de Change, and also due to the closeness of the city it is not difficult for visitors to take a trip into the city's shopping area and locate anything they may require.

Getting There

By Car

From the east follow the 416 road until you reach the city outskirts then follow the signs and directions for the ferry terminal.

From the south follow the N2 until you reach the city outskirts then follow the signs and directions for the ferry terminal.

From the west follow the N1 until you reach the city outskirts then follow the signs and directions for the ferry terminal.

By Rail

Trains now arrive and depart from Tangier Morora (on the outskirts of town, 4km from the port), from where petits taxis will take you into town.

By Bus

Bus services from most towns generally arrive at Tangier Gare Routiere (Bus Station), south of the Ville Nouvelle. CTM has buses from Rabat, Casablanca, Fes, Marrakesh and the other major cities some of which continue on from the gare routiere to the port entrance.
