Tirrenia (Tirrenia di Navigazione) ferries connect mainland Italy with Sardinia, Sicily and Albania. Tirrenia was founded in 1936, and is now one of the largest fleet operators in Europe.
The Adriatic division of Tirrenia links Italy to Croatia and Albania, and also sails to the Tremiti Islands and the Istrian coast.

The majority of Tirrenia's fleet in the Tirrenean Sea is composed of brand new fast super ferries that can travel at up to 30 knots, guaranteeing short and comfortable crossings on the Italy to Sardinia, Naples to Palermo, Cagliari to Palermo and Cagliari to Trapani routes. There are also ferries, cruise-ferries and fast-ferries in the fleet.
