About Toulon
Located on the southern coast of France close to the French/Italian border, Toulon is an important centre for naval construction, fishing, wine making and for the manufacture of aeronautical equipment. Toulon is also an important French military harbour and French Naval base.
Toulon also has many exciting and beautiful sights to see such as Mount Faron, Le mourillon and the Rade and arsenal of Toulon. The Old Town of Toulon also has many beautiful fountains and squares ringed by shops and delightful cafés to relax and unwind in.
Toulon Terminal Facilities
Bonifacio ferry port has a pedestrian walkway that leads passengers from the terminals to the city centre. In the terminal services include a Tourist Information bureau, public telephones, a bar, toilets and a free shuttle service from the terminals to the port gate. Outdoor parking and indoor private parking (Mayol) are also available.
Getting There
By Car
From Marseille: Take the motorway A50 and continue on for about 63 Km, all the way to Toulon. From Lyon: Take and stay on the motorway A7 for about 275 Km; continue on the A8/Aix-Ouest/Aix en Provence/Toulon/Nice and after 30 Km take the exit onto the A52 toward Aubagne/Toulon.
From Nice: Take the A8 and continue for about 85 Km; take the exit onto the A57/ Le Luc/Toulon/Hyeres and continue straight all the way to Toulon.
A57 - Exit "La Rode Gare Maritime", bd De Lattre de Tassigny, Rond-point Bonaparte, follow the signs "Gare Maritime".
From Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, exit A50, Avenue de la République, Rond-point Bonaparte, follow the signs "Gare Maritime".
By Rail
Toulon Railway Station is close to the city centre and close to the Ferry Port.
