Troon Ferries Overview
You can check the latest special offers, see timetables, and book tickets for a P&O Irish Sea ferry between Troon (Scotland, UK) and Larne (Northern Ireland, UK) with AFerry.com.
About Troon
Situated in the South Ayrshire area, on Scotland's south western coast, Troon is a tidy and affluent centre, and is, of course, home to the Royal Troon golf course where British Open has famously been held many times. There is more to Troon than golf however, the big marina is full of sailing ships, and Troon's beach is one of the biggest in Scotland with shallows that stretch far out from the shore into the sea. These help give the town a relaxed seaside-resort appeal that has seen many come for the ferry but stay a while for the town.
Getting There
By Car
Located just north of Ayr & Prestwick on the West coast of Scotland, the Port of Troon is approached from the A78 from Irvine to the north & from the A77 from Ayr, or from Kilmarnock to the west. Follow the signs to the Ferry Port.
By Rail
Troon has a rail station situated a short walk from the ferry terminal that is serviced by a regular local stopping train service.
By Bus
There is a local bus service that stops outside the port and close to the ferry terminal.
