Getting to Colintraive Port
From Dunoon, take the mostly single track B836 from Sandbank and follow signs for Glendaruel and Tighnabruaich. Turn left onto the A886 and continue to Colintraive. From Inverary and the north, take the A815 from the A83 and stay on this road as far as Strachur. Turn right onto the A886 and stay on this road all the way to Colintraive.
Buses 477, 478, and 479 run through Dunoon, Rothesay and Portavadie and stop at Colintraive.
There are delightful walks to be had on the shores of Colintraive, and the roads are also quiet enough for cyclists to enjoy the coastline. Fishing permits can be obtained in the nearby lochs and country cycle routes are available for the more energetic cyclist.
