Fethiye is a great place to visit whether on a day excursion or for longer and a great way to make any holiday to Rhodes more exciting. You can book a ferry to Fethiye easily and simply with AFerry. Below, you can find the Fethiye ferry timetable, journey times as well as our best prices.
Fethiye is a large, bustling harbour town and trading centre. The town, with a natural harbour, has been fought over by the Ottomans, Romans, Seljucks and Byzantines. History is evident throughout the town centre including colossal rock tombs that are floodlit at night, the ruins of a castle and fort on the hill, and an amphitheatre to the rear of the main harbour. You can book tickets to Fethiye from Rhodes using AFerry.
Fethiye is well worth a visit. Especially worth visiting are the magnificent rock tombs that are built directly into the rockface. The old castle and the amphitheatre near the port are also worth a look in.
However, the nearby region is also worth exploring. In recent years there has been a very large increase in tourism following the development of popular resorts like Calis, Hisaronu, Ovacik and Oludeniz. Oludeniz is well known for its blue lagoon which is formed by a spit of sand that is so large that it practically creates a lake from the sea. This is well worth a visit, if you have the time.
Fethiye itself is quite unlike these modern tourist resorts and as such provides a nice contrast. Near the harbour you will find the old Town (Paspatur). This is a delightful maze of little alleys packed with shops, restaurants, bars and boutiques. It's a great place to find a bargain but remember haggling is not an option! Or you might want to watch the world go by with a drink by the duck-pond.
The town is busiest of a Tuesday when the region's largest market comes to town. Here you can happily while away a few hours buying anything from fresh organic vegetables to high fashion. However, be warned, some of the designer items may not be original!

The port is in a natural harbour where yachts also dock. The port area is very much an integral part of the town and a beautiful area. There are nearby cafes, restuarants and hotels with the old town and amphitheatre close by. Public transport and taxis are also easily and readily available.
Getting to Fethiye port
The port is small and if taking an excursion to the town then you may have no need to use transport at all as there is plenty to see and do within walking distances of the port itself. However, taxis and public busses are readily available near the port.
