Ishigaki Port

Ishigaki is found north of Iriomote Island. Ishigaki is very small, only 1km in diameter, and natural. The port is just the same. It is very basic with few facilities, but anything more would ruin the beauty of the small island.

Getting to Ishigaki port

The port is located on the south-west tip of the island. From the town centre you can reach the ferry port within a few minutes of walking. Alternatively, Azuma Bus operates throughout the island, stopping off at the ferry terminal and airport.

About Ishigaki

Ishigaki Island is the largest of the Yaeyama Islands in the Okinawa Prefecture of Japan and is home to white sandy beaches, rare coral, mountains and mangrove forests. What Ishigaki lacks in terms of man-made tourist spots, it more than makes up for in terms of natural beauty. An inceasingly popular tourist destination, Ishigaki offers net-protected beaches for families, speciality Yaeyama soba noodles for foodies, beautiful coral reefs for snorkellers and hikes up Mount Nosoko for the adventurous, with impressive views along the emerald green waters of Kabira bay.
