About Leros

The main port of Leros is located in the town of Lakki. Leros was a naval base for the Germans and the Italians before it was opened to tourists very recently, so Leros is still an unspoilt island ideal for relaxed calm holidays. You can book ferries to Leros from other destinations around the Dodecanese Islands or to mainland Greece through AFerry

Some of places to see in Leros are the Byzantine castle of Platanos, the archaeological and historic museums, the neoclassical mansions and the British War Cemetery from the battle in 1943.

Leros offers a serene atmosphere for those who wish to avoid the rush and enjoy a peaceful holiday.

Leros is characterised by attractive little villages with distinctive style of architecture and 60 kilometres of picturesque coastline with beautiful sandy beaches.

Although Leros is a quieter place in terms of tourism, there is plenty of choice with regards to accommodation, resorts, taverns and bars in the villages on Leros.
