The port's facilities include Ticket Sales and Enquiries, a Tourist Information Centre, a luggage area with lockers, hot and cold drinks vending machines, lifts, and toilets. Car parking is available near the Stromness Terminal.

To reach the Stromness Ferry Terminal by car from Kirkwall, follow the A965 road west for approximately 16 miles (26 km) to Stromness. Upon entering Stromness, signs will point to the ferry terminal located on Ferry Road. Approach the car check-in booth to check-in and receive boarding instructions.
