Hou Ferries

About Hou

There is also a small flat island, situated near the harbour, called Hou Ron, which only emerged from the sea in the 1930s. Just north of the ferry port you will find some sandy beaches for all the family to enjoy, or you can explore the nearby forests, with plenty of walking and easy biking routes available.

Hou Port

The small town of Hou is the main ferry port on the peninsula, with a daily link to and from the Island of Samso (the port of Saelvig). On most days, Samso Island is clearly visible from Hou. Ferries from Hou to Samso can be booked with AFerry

Getting to Hou

From the E45 European Motorway, you can branch off on the road 445 which takes you directly to the port. There are also regular bus links too and from the nearby town of Århus from where you can find connecting links to the rest of Denmark.
