    The Galaxy Wave

    With 152 feet long and capacity for 460 people, the catamaran Galaxy Wave will take you to Roatan Island from la Ceiba or vice versa in just one hour and a quarter. It has a lower air-conditioned cabin that allocates 250 regular seats, 150 seats outdoors on the second level and also on this floor, 60 first class seats with excellent views. The ferry doesn't take cars, but there are parking spaces at La Ceiba's port and also in Roatan where you can leave your vehicle. On board there is a snack & coffee shop, washrooms and TV.


    The crossing

    The ferry terminal in La Ceiba is located at the Muelle de Cabotaje, there are some amenities like a Restaurant-Café, an ATM cash machine and paid parking is available. The Roatan terminal is located in the centre of the island and offers free parking, apart from a coffee shop, a restaurant-café, etc. The best way to travel to and from both ferry terminals is by taxi.

    There are two daily departures from La Ceiba to Roatan, leaving 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM and also two daily departures coming back from Roatan, leaving at 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The sailing times can change depending on the season.

    You'll need to check in at least one hour before departure, and remember that you must present your printed booking confirmation and carry your passport with you. The item restrictions are similar to the airline's ones.


    On board Roatan Island Ferry

    The allowed luggage per each passenger consists of two bags, up to 50 pounds and 28 x 22 x 14 inches each.

    Disabled and reduced mobility passengers have priority to board the ferry. As the ferry doesn't have any lift, they will need to remain on the lower level of the catamaran.

    Pets are welcomed on board but they must be placed in their kennels during the crossings. They are not allowed on the main area of the ferry, there is a small open air area on board where pets are safely kept during the crossing.

    Smoking is not allowed inside the ferry or the terminals.
