Wasaline currently only owns one ship, which they use for all services. The ship is modern and contains many different amenities, accommodations and dining areas to suit all passenger needs.

Wasaline History

Wasaline has operated under several different names and ownership structures over the years. In January 2012, the city of Vaasa and the municipality of Umeå established a joint shipping company to maintain ferry services between the two cities. They acquired the rights to the Wasaline brand from RG Line and began operations using the ferry Wasa Express.

Over the past few years, Wasaline has established itself as a reliable and valuable cargo carrier between Finland and Sweden, and passenger numbers have risen.

Wasaline Sustainability

Wasaline emphasises environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Its hybrid ferry, Aurora Botnia, uses LNG and biogas with battery power to reduce emissions. The company promotes energy efficiency through smart systems, recycles waste, and sources local ingredients for onboard dining. Sustainable interior materials and automated processes in smart harbours further enhance their environmental efforts. Wasaline aligns its goals with regional and global sustainability targets, aiming for zero emissions by 2030.
