About Uehara
Uehara lies on the northern tip of Iriomote, an island that is the largest of the Yaeyama Islands which consists of 19 sub-tropical islands in the south western waters of Okinawa Prefecture (southern most point of Japan). Uehara has good ferry links with Hatoma Port in Okinawa. Iriomote island's highest peak is Mt. Komi at 469m. There are many activities available on Iriomote Island such as kayaking in the tropical rivers, trekking in the jungle interior and scuba diving on the island's spectacular coral reefs.
