NAVARMA, the original name of Moby Lines, was established in 1959 by Achille Onorato. The company initially operated routes connecting Sardinia to nearby coastal islands.
In February 1966, NAVARMA acquired its second ferry and began services between Sardinia and Corsica. This marked the beginning of the company’s gradual expansion, with the addition of another ferry in 1967.
By the early 1990s, NAVARMA continued to grow by acquiring additional used ferries to enhance its fleet. During this period, the company officially adopted its current name, Moby Lines.
Moby Lines is committed to fostering sustainable practices across its entire fleet, setting a standard for environmentally conscious maritime operations. The latest addition to their fleet, the MOBY Fantasy, represents a significant leap forward in eco-friendly ferry design. As one of the largest and most environmentally considerate ferries globally, it combines impressive transport capacity with advanced technical innovations.
These cutting-edge features optimise fuel efficiency, significantly reducing emissions and minimising its overall environmental footprint. By incorporating such sustainable technologies, MOBY Fantasy exemplifies Moby Lines' dedication to balancing high-performance maritime travel with a responsible approach to environmental stewardship.
