The crossing was perfectly OK,…
The crossing was perfectly OK, although for some reason 2 hours slower than the day crossing. We got the last 2 recliners somehow which helped from a sleeping perspective. My main gripe is that cars are seemingly loaded completely randomly, so despite being there very early, about 2130 for a 2359 departure, we were put in the last lane and loaded last which meant that all the best spots on the ferry were already taken and we were almost the last off. It can't be beyond the capabilities of DFDS to load first come first served, physical restrictions apart obviously. We were in a normal family sized car.

This is a really pleasant alternative to the busy Dover-Calais crossing if you happen to be in the Sussex/Hants area.It's rather like a mini-cruise, and ideal especially for those heading for a holiday destination in Normandy.

Perfect day for the crossing to Dieppe , flat sea and sunshine all the way. Sadly no dolphins swimming beside us !
