Polferries and Unity Line have launched a new joint ferry brand, POLSCA Baltic Ferries, bringing together their ferry services between Poland and Sweden under a shared framework.
For travellers, drivers, and logistics users, this marks an important development in ferry travel between Poland and Sweden. The POLSCA brand groups existing ferry routes that are already operating, while also outlining plans to expand the ferry network in the future.
What is changing for ferry travellers?
Under the POLSCA Baltic Ferries brand, ferry routes continue to be operated by Polferries and Unity Line, but are now presented as part of a wider, coordinated network between Poland and Scandinavia.
This includes:
- ferry crossings on the Świnoujście–Trelleborg route, which is currently operating
- plans for a new Gdańsk–Karlshamn ferry service, announced for a later launch
Other established ferry routes operated by these companies include Świnoujście–Ystad and Gdańsk–Nynäshamn.
Together, these developments strengthen ferry crossings between Poland and Sweden and support smoother ferry travel across key Baltic Sea routes, particularly for travellers continuing onward through Scandinavia.
Jantar Unity now operating on Swinoujscie–Trelleborg
A new ferry, Jantar Unity, is now operating on the Świnoujście–Trelleborg route.
The vessel entered service in January 2026 and has been designed for overnight Baltic crossings. For travellers, this provides a more comfortable way to cover longer sea distances, especially when travelling with a car, campervan, or freight vehicle between Poland and southern Sweden.
New Gdansk–Karlshamn ferry route planned
POLSCA Baltic Ferries has also announced plans for a new ferry route between Gdańsk and Karlshamn.
The planned service is expected to:
- operate up to six times per week
- depart in the evening and arrive the following morning
- have a crossing time of around 13 hours
The Gdańsk–Karlshamn route is not yet operating. Its launch is planned for later this year, subject to the completion of port infrastructure works.
What this means for your journey
If you are planning ferry travel between Poland and Sweden, these developments mean:
- continued operation of established ferry routes
- modern vessels on key overnight crossings
- additional route options planned for future travel
By strengthening ferry connections across the southern Baltic Sea, POLSCA Baltic Ferries supports easier and more reliable travel between Central Europe and Scandinavia.
