Balearia Canarias History

Baleària Canarias was launched in 2026 following Baleària’s acquisition of the Canary Islands operations of Armas Trasmediterránea.

The new brand operates inter-island routes and services linking the Canary Islands with mainland Spain. During the transition period, the Baleària Canarias and Armas Trasmediterránea brands may coexist on some services.

The launch of Baleària Canarias brought together the experience of three historic Spanish ferry operators: Trasmediterránea, Armas and Baleària, strengthening maritime connectivity for passengers and freight throughout the region.

No information was provided regarding the time from which entry to the port for boarding. We arrived at 8:30 a.m., and the Civil Guard told us that entry wasn't permitted until 9:30 a.m. The vehicle unloading procedure was also not explained, and we had to ask Balearia employees, who were equally unhelpful. As a result, we had to figure things out and proceed as we went along. Otherwise, nothing to add. Thank you.
