Adria Ferries History

Initially focused on meeting the growing demand for passenger and freight transportation, the company quickly became a key player in fostering ties between the two countries, serving routes linking Italian ports like Bari, Ancona, and Trieste with the Albanian port of Durres.

Adria Ferries was founded during a period of increased migration, trade, and tourism between Italy and Albania, positioning itself as a vital link for Albanian expatriates, tourists, and businesses. Its modern fleet and customer-centric approach allowed the company to grow rapidly, offering enhanced travel experiences with comfortable cabins, dining options, and efficient services for passengers and cargo alike.

Over the years, Adria Ferries expanded its operations and strengthened its reputation for reliability and safety. The company also played a significant role in supporting the Albanian economy, facilitating trade and tourism while connecting Albania to the broader European market.

In the late 2010s and early 2020s, Adria Ferries adapted to challenges such as fluctuating fuel costs, increasing competition, and shifts in passenger demand. Through ongoing investments in its fleet and services, the company has remained a trusted choice for those travelling between Italy and Albania.

Today, Adria Ferries continues to be a vital maritime operator in the Adriatic, bridging cultural and economic divides while maintaining its commitment to quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Adria Ferries Sustainability

Adria Ferries is committed to sustainable maritime practices, focusing on reducing its environmental impact while providing essential ferry services between Italy and Albania. The company invests in modern, fuel-efficient vessels, adopts eco-friendly waste management systems, and ensures compliance with international environmental standards. Adria Ferries also strives to optimise its operations to minimise emissions and conserve energy, all while supporting regional tourism and trade. Through these efforts, the company remains dedicated to preserving the Adriatic environment and promoting sustainable transport across its routes.

The ferry was comfortable, the staff very helpful, and it arrived in Bari very quickly. The problem was in Durres, where 3 ferries arrived and there was no information about which one was going to Bari, the large NADRIA ferry arrived, which turned out to be going to Ancona, while the GNV was going to Bari, I had no information about this. Besides that, it was supposed to depart on Saturday at 11, but it departed at 13-40. There was no information about this either. Overall OK but having these 3 ferries at the same time in Dyrres and no one there to provide information caused a lot of confusion.
