To reach the Stromness Ferry Terminal by car from Kirkwall, follow the A965 road west for approximately 16 miles (26 km) to Stromness. Upon entering Stromness, signs will point to the ferry terminal located on Ferry Road. Approach the car check-in booth to check-in and receive boarding instructions.

Buses stop opposite the ferry terminal and are operated by Stagecoach. To board the ferry as a foot passenger, first head to the check-in desk. You will be issued a boarding card and directed on board, this will be checked just as you are about to board the vessel.
