Ferries to and from Mallaig

Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) Ferries operates nimble ships to navigate the smaller isles in the Hebrides. On board you will find a coffee cabin and depending on your route you may find an onboard shop.

Mallaig Port Facilities

The ferry terminal in Mallaig is a 5 minute walk from the town centre, where you will find shops, restaurants, banks and car parking. Car parking is limited at the port but does include 2 accessible parking spaces.

Getting Mallaig

By Train
The train station is just a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and offers connections to Fort William and Glasgow.

By Car
From Glasgow, follow the A82 up to Fort William and then take the A830 to Mallaig.

About Mallaig

Mallaig is a traditional fishing port so you'll find some fantastic seafood restaurants serving freshly caught fish. The town is strategically placed as a gateway for the small islands in the Scottish Isles, making it a great base to explore the smaller islands in the Hebrides.

    SHORT FERRY CROSSING

    • Staff were very professional and well organised, and courteous and helpful. Journey was extremely pleasant (the sun was out!!) and the views great. (Did not use the on board catering).

    Island hopping

    • Well organised helpful staff, cars a little to close together on the ship, but I suppose the more that travel it keeps the cost so reasonable.
