About Vathy

Vathy is a harbour town on the Greek island Samos in the North Aegean, not to be confused with the small harbour town Vathy on the island Ithaka. The village of Vathy is located in the northeast of the island, in a beautiful bay. Vathy is connected to the town of Samos as the village rises into the hills. Vathy is one of the oldest villages on Samos and offers modern as well as Venetian and neoclassical buildings. tavernas and cafés surround the harbour, while narrow alleys meander uphill between colourful old houses. Vathy is a great place for tourists and sights are the Byzantine Museum, the historic church of Agios Spyridon and the impressive Archaeological Museum. The port of Vathy is one of the three main ports on the island.
