FRS History

FRS began as a regional passenger ferry operator in 1866, gradually expanding into an international ferry group offering both conventional and high-speed ferry services.

Since 2000, FRS Iberia and FRS Maroc have provided ferry connections across the Strait of Gibraltar, linking southern Spain with Morocco and Ceuta. The operator became well known for its frequent crossings, carrying both foot passengers and vehicles.

In January 2024, FRS Iberia/Maroc was acquired by DFDS, bringing its established ferry operations into the Danish company's network.
